Erika Kirk says she’s endured the ‘unimaginable’ one year without Charlie in incredibly candid late-night post

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

Erika Kirk marked the first anniversary of her husband Charlie Kirk's assassination with an emotional late-night Instagram post, describing the past year as "unimaginable" and thanking supporters for their prayers and love. Rather than attending a public memorial at Utah Valley University, the site of his death, she chose to mark the anniversary privately with the couple's two young children, family and close friends, according to a family spokesperson.

In her post, shared on Thursday evening alongside a photo of her walking with her children, Erika thanked those who had "steadied" her family through the year and paid tribute to Charlie as "the love of my life," also sharing a wedding-day photo captioned "… until Heaven." She had taken over as CEO of Turning Point USA following her husband's assassination in September 2025 and initially maintained a high public profile, but has since stepped back. She had attended President Donald Trump's speech at the Republican convention in Dallas the previous day, where he paid tribute to Charlie's legacy and called the shooting "just terrible."
