Two cyclists have died after a car reportedly lost control and crashed into a group of riders on Sole Street near Gravesend, Kent, on Sunday 6 September. The victims, named locally as Steven Anscomb and Natasha Lewis, died at the scene from what police described as "traumatic and catastrophic" injuries, while a third cyclist was treated in hospital for minor injuries. Kent Police have charged 22-year-old Aaron Turner with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene, and drug possession; he has been granted bail after appearing at Medway Magistrates' Court via video link.

Police said a white Ford Focus was travelling towards Meopham when it struck the three cyclists near the junction with Round Street shortly before 8am. A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, also arrested in connection with the incident, have been released on bail while enquiries continue. Families of both victims paid tribute, with Mr Anscomb's wife describing him as an "amazing, kind, caring, hardworking dad" who had gone out for a ride ahead of a planned trip to Amsterdam, while Ms Lewis's daughter remembered her mother as a "thoughtful and strong woman" devoted to exercise.
