Sienna Spiro Becomes Youngest British Female to Top U.K. Singles Chart in 12 Years Thanks to ‘Great Expectation’

Billboard · 2 hours ago

British singer Sienna Spiro has claimed her first UK Official Singles Chart No. 1 with "Great Expectation," dethroning Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas." At 20, Spiro becomes the youngest British female artist to top the chart since Becky Hill in July 2014, marking a breakthrough year that began with her viral single "Die on This Hill" in October 2025.

"Great Expectation," taken from Spiro's debut album Visitor, entered the top 40 at No. 32 in July before climbing steadily, reaching No. 2 the previous week ahead of its ascent to No. 1. Elsewhere on the chart, Langley's "Choosin' Texas" slips to No. 2, having itself only reached No. 1 the week before, ending Sam Fender and Olivia Dean's 23-week run atop the chart with "Rein Me In," now at No. 5. Other notable movers include Dua Lipa's "Training Season" (up to No. 7), Tame Impala's "Loser" (No. 10) and Miley Cyrus's new single "Bass Persuades" (No. 31, her 27th UK top 40 hit).

  • Sienna Spiro, 20, scores first UK No. 1 with "Great Expectation."
  • Youngest British female chart-topper since Becky Hill in 2014.
  • Ends Ella Langley's brief reign; Sam Fender/Olivia Dean's 23-week run ended prior week.
