Streaming Ratings: ‘Reacher’ Is (Still) Big

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Prime Video's "Reacher" returned to the top of Nielsen's weekly streaming charts as its fourth season premiered, underlining the enduring popularity of the Alan Ritchson-led action series. The strong showing came even though the season's opening was somewhat smaller than previous ones, reflecting broader trends in a competitive week where several other shows also posted notable gains.

"Reacher" logged 1.5 billion viewing minutes across all seasons for 10-16 August, with 1.19 billion of that (79 percent) attributed to the three new season-four episodes released on 12 August, itself enough to top the week alone; this ranks as the show's fifth-best week ever, below the 1.69-1.84 billion minutes prior seasons achieved. Close behind were "Ted Lasso" (966 million) and "Lioness" (955 million, its best week yet), while "My Life With the Walter Boys" and "Sterling Point" also grew after their premieres. "The Big Bang Theory" led acquired series for a fifth straight week with 1.09 billion minutes, and Netflix's "The Last House" stayed top of the film chart with 869 million minutes, as the Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" became the first Starz-exclusive title to make the rankings.

  • "Reacher" season four topped Nielsen's streaming charts in its debut week
  • "Ted Lasso" and "Lioness" both neared the billion-minute mark
  • "The Last House" retained the No. 1 film spot on Netflix
