Architect and television presenter Amanda Bone has been announced as the face of Dublin Design Week, marking a departure from her usual role discussing buildings on the Irish property show Home Of The Year. Known for judging homes alongside the late Hugh Wallace, who died in December, Bone has spoken about her lifelong passion for architecture, her design influences and her enthusiasm for helping to popularise interior design with the public.

In the interview, Bone traces her interest in buildings back to childhood, crediting her artistic father, a quantity surveyor, and her mother, a flower artist and watercolourist, for shaping her creative outlook. She names JW Anderson and Victoria Beckham among her favourite designers, citing the "architectural" asymmetry of JW Anderson's clothing, and reveals that one particular dress is so complicated to put on, requiring her mother's help, that it reduces her to tears despite loving the finished look.
