Dutch filmmaker Tom Six, who found cult fame with The Human Centipede trilogy, has revealed that his long-awaited follow-up film has been stuck in limbo for seven years, and says the stress of the ordeal has worsened his multiple sclerosis to the point where he believes he is nearing death. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, dictated to his partner because he can no longer type, Six describes it as his final interview, saying he has said everything else he needs to say in a new self-made documentary.

Six completed The Onania Club, a satire about wealthy Los Angeles women aroused by others' suffering, in 2019, expecting distributors to embrace it as they had Centipede. Instead he was repeatedly told the market had changed, and the film has sat unseen in his Amsterdam vault ever since; it is still seeking a distributor. The 53-year-old has meanwhile made The End of Tom Six, a black-and-white documentary shot from his sickbed chronicling his health decline and professional setbacks, which he and his partner Maartje Willems are releasing themselves via YouTube on a "pay what you feel" basis.
