35 Years Later, the Greatest Detective Thriller Series of All Time Is Officially Free on Streaming
Twin Peaks, the cult 1990s detective series created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, is now available to stream for free on Pluto TV, marking a moment for fans to revisit or discover the show 35 years after its debut. Though it ran for only two seasons on ABC before cancellation, the series is widely regarded as one of the most influential and original works in television history, blending a murder mystery with surreal, mood-driven storytelling.
The show follows FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) as he investigates the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) in the small town of Twin Peaks, uncovering dark secrets involving supernatural forces, troubled families and criminal schemes. Lynch directed only six of the original 30 episodes, and network pressure to resolve Laura's murder during the second season contributed to the show's cancellation. Lynch later returned to the story with Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017, completing his vision for the series.
