Liberal MP Andrew Hastie and One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce appeared on friendly terms at the ABC's National Migration Forum on Monday, just days after Hastie had furiously accused One Nation and its leader Pauline Hanson of branding him a "traitor". The pair discussed cutting Australia's Net Overseas Migration (NOM), with Joyce jokingly agreeing with Hastie's tougher stance, prompting host David Speers to note they had "been at war all week". Hastie explained that Joyce had apologised and the matter was settled, though he visibly baulked at Joyce's remark that they were "back in the bed together". The earlier row stemmed from Hanson posting a cartoon to X that Hastie said called him a traitor eight times, linked to court proceedings involving Ben Roberts-Smith; Hastie had called Hanson and Joyce "lying cowards" before the apparent truce.
