In pictures: Stars on red carpet at Emmy Awards in LA
Stars gathered in Los Angeles for the 78th Emmy Awards, the television industry's biggest night, celebrating the standout shows of the past year. Nominees and presenters walked a blue version of the traditional red carpet ahead of the ceremony, broadcast live from the Peacock Theater and hosted by Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Zendaya is bidding for a third Emmy for best drama actress for Euphoria, while medical drama The Pitt leads this year's nominations and Stranger Things was notably snubbed in top categories. British and Welsh talent featured prominently, with Carey Mulligan nominated for Beef and Matthew Rhys receiving two nominations for The Beast In Me and Widow's Bay. Michael J Fox is set to receive the TV Academy's Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, while Scottish stars Richard Gadd and Alan Cumming also featured, the latter having won an award at last weekend's Creative Arts Emmys.
