Kate O'Flynn has won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Apple TV's "Widow's Bay", marking her first nomination and first win. The award was presented at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, in a ceremony that saw a mix of established shows and newcomers recognised across the comedy categories.

O'Flynn, previously known for "My Lady Jane" and "Bridget Jones' Baby", played Patricia Moyer, an eccentric mayoral assistant who survives repeated encounters with a masked slasher in the horror-comedy series. "Widow's Bay" proved a breakout hit, earning 19 Emmy nominations despite airing only half its season before the nominations deadline, putting it on par with outgoing HBO favourite "Hacks", which picked up 24 nominations in its final season. Other nominees in the category included Hannah Einbinder and Megan Stalter for "Hacks", Jessica Williams for "Shrinking", Janelle James for "Abbott Elementary", and Michelle Pfeiffer and Dale Dickey for newer series.
