Threads leans even further into podcasts with transcripts, analytics and more

Engadget · 44 minutes ago

Meta is expanding Threads' podcast features, building on tools it introduced in 2025, to make the app a more central hub for podcast promotion. Users can now share transcripts, save episodes to revisit later, and track how much traffic their Threads posts are driving to their shows, all without leaving the app, as Meta looks to position Threads as a go-to destination for directing audiences to podcasts.

Threads posts linking to episodes can now display video clips, written transcript excerpts, or a featured guest if they are tagged, while tapping a link can trigger an audio preview and a new "save for later" button. Meta has also added creator-facing tools, including reminders to share episodes after launch and podcast insights showing clicks and saves, notably giving outbound podcast links more analytics prominence than Threads typically affords to other external links.

  • Threads adds podcast transcripts, save-for-later and traffic analytics tools
  • Posts can show video clips, transcripts or tagged guests
  • Move builds on Meta's 2025 podcast features, boosts external link analytics
