Boox has unveiled the Note Air 6C, an updated version of its popular 10.3-inch colour E Ink tablet, with most improvements centred on speed rather than a radical redesign. The device tackles one of the main criticisms of E Ink hardware, sluggishness, with a faster processor and a refreshed display mode intended to make scrolling, browsing and dynamic content feel smoother than on typical e-paper screens.

The Note Air 6C's processor reaches up to 2.9GHz, a 45 per cent jump over its predecessor, the Note Air 5C, which Boox says results in PDF pages turning around 40 per cent faster. It runs Android 16 with full Google Play Store access (versus Android 15 on the older model), retains 6GB of RAM, and offers a 300PPI black-and-white display alongside 150PPI colour output. Other features include a four-microphone array, a fingerprint sensor in the power button, dual speakers, 64GB of storage with a microSD slot, and the charge-free Pen3 stylus. It is available now from $580 for a bundle with a folio case, rising to $690 (launch price $657) with an added keyboard cover, representing a $50 increase over the previous generation.
