Thousands of Scots attended Ayr Ladies Day as part of the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup Festival, maintaining their commitment to style and tradition despite challenging weather conditions. The event, a highlight of the racing season, features prestigious style awards and competitive horse racing, with attendees undeterred by constant rain, strong winds, and mild temperatures.

Revellers battled winds gusting up to 37mph, holding onto fascinators and hats whilst sheltering under umbrellas throughout the day. The festival's second day featured several races, including Eye of Dubai winning the Ayr Bronze Cup and Fluorescence taking the Arran Scottish Sprint; the upcoming final day will see competition for the Silver and Gold Cups, with a record 263 horses entered for the Gold Cup race, far exceeding its normal maximum field of 25.
