A human trafficking gang led by Achareeya Spurr, known as "Freya The Ice Queen", has been sentenced to a combined 23 years in prison for exploiting 24 Thai women through a sophisticated prostitution network. The four-member gang, including Chin Ping, Ugur Sahin and Sarunyoo Siriwan, operated across 26 brothels in London and Kent, targeting vulnerable women from Thailand who were deceived with false visitor visa arrangements. This case demonstrates the serious threat posed by organised human trafficking in the UK and the effectiveness of coordinated law enforcement and victim support efforts.

The gang's operation involved smuggling victims, sometimes in the back of lorries from the Netherlands, then confiscating their passports and forcing them into prostitution to repay fabricated debts that often reached tens of thousands of pounds. During searches in October, the Metropolitan Police recovered £57,145 in cash, designer goods, mobile phones and victims' documents. Spurr, aged 49, received more than seven years imprisonment after pleading guilty, whilst her three male associates were convicted after a seven-week trial. Police discovered the operation through evidence including TikTok posts referencing "Freya" and ultimately located 24 exploited victims who had arrived in the UK during the previous year.
