Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has denied allegations made in a House Ethics Committee complaint filed by journalist David Wheeler, characterising the claims as "politically motivated." The complaint alleges that Boebert engaged in sexual relationships with three current and former staff members and paid $200,000 in hush money to one staffer. The ethics complaint comes amid heightened tensions between Boebert and President Trump, stemming from her vocal support for releasing the Epstein files and her backing of Republican Thomas Massie, whom Trump opposes.

Wheeler has countered Boebert's denial, stating he stands by his sources and claims she has a pattern of dishonesty. The underlying conflict has significant political dimensions: Trump previously attempted to pressure Boebert to withdraw from pushing the Epstein release petition and in December vetoed a water pipeline bill benefiting her Colorado constituents, which Massie characterised as retaliation. Boebert, now in her third term aged 39, has herself been prominent in calling out lawmakers accused of sexual misconduct.
