Great Britain have qualified for the Davis Cup Finals for the first time since 2023 after defeating Ecuador 4-0 in their qualifying tie at London’s Copper Box Arena. Henry Patten and Neal Skupski secured an unassailable lead with a 6-3 6-4 doubles victory, following singles wins by Toby Samuel and Arthur Fery, while Harry Wendelken completed the clean sweep on his Davis Cup debut.

The result is particularly notable given Britain’s inexperienced team and the absences of Jack Draper, Jan Choinski, Jacob Fearnley and the injured Cameron Norrie. Samuel, who has climbed to 95th in the world after starting the season outside the top 250, fought back to beat Andres Andrade, while Fery defeated Alvaro Guillen Meza. The Final 8 will be held in Bologna from 24 to 29 November; hosts and three-time defending champions Italy qualify automatically, while the United States will miss the quarter-finals for a second consecutive year.
