Kit Harington has clarified that he was never formally approached by Marvel Studios to star in a rumoured "Midnight Sons" supernatural superhero team-up film, despite his brief appearance as Black Knight in 2021's Eternals. This addresses ongoing speculation about whether the MCU would develop this project following the cancellation of Mahershala Ali's Blade film and the announcement of Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider project.

Harington told podcast host Josh Horowitz that "nothing solid" was ever communicated about a team film featuring his character, explaining that Marvel Studios introduces characters experimentally without concrete plans. However, the actor expressed genuine interest in returning to the Black Knight role, describing the character and his cursed Ebony Blade as offering "an interesting story of someone going from hero to villain." Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac has similarly addressed Midnight Sons rumours but remained non-committal, whilst the MCU has already introduced several potential team members including Werewolf by Night, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and Wong.
