YouTube adds AI agents to optimise channels and refresh older videos
YouTube is expanding its AI creator tools to handle more channel-management and optimisation tasks, potentially reducing the effort needed to improve a video’s reach. The most significant addition is an AI agent that monitors older videos for renewed relevance or trends, then suggests updated titles and thumbnails, while also helping creators prepare sponsorship pitches.
The tools can generate thumbnails and titles, provide feedback, and test up to three thumbnail options across audience segments. Creators can also test three similar versions of a video, such as different openings or structures; YouTube may select the strongest performer after seven days. The expansion raises concerns about authenticity, but YouTube says AI should assist creators rather than produce the core content itself.
- YouTube’s AI agent optimises older videos and channel performance.
- New tools generate titles, thumbnails and sponsorship pitches.
- Creators can test different thumbnails and video versions.
