The Register is hosting an invitation-only dinner in Washington about data sovereignty and AI infrastructure, with HPE and NVIDIA representatives answering questions under the Chatham House Rule. The event focuses on the practical challenges regulated organisations face over where data is stored, who can access it and how compliance can be demonstrated, rather than on AI model performance alone.

The dinner will take place on 29 October from 6.00pm to 8.30pm at Fiola Mare, with places limited to technology, data and risk leaders in sectors including healthcare, finance, government and research. HPE’s Thierry Pienaar and NVIDIA’s Bert Condensa will discuss infrastructure boundaries, costs, capabilities, flexibility and whether proposed arrangements remain workable in day-to-day operations; attendees may pay their own share if required by public-sector ethics rules.
