Xiaomi has launched the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China, with a wider international release planned later this year. The phones are among the first to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and introduce advanced privacy displays designed to prevent people viewing the screen from an angle, making them particularly relevant for users handling sensitive information.

The privacy system can conceal app notifications, split-screen content and floating windows, with app-specific, location-based and manual controls; the front camera can also detect potential onlookers. Both models feature 1–120Hz 2K LTPO AMOLED screens reaching 4,000 nits, rear displays, a 200MP main camera, a 200MP telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide. They include 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh batteries, support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, and start at 5,999 yuan and 6,999 yuan respectively.
