Riftworld Chronicles is an eight-episode fantasy comedy about Alar, a wizard stranded in the modern world, who mistakes struggling journalist Kim for a sorceress and seeks her help returning home. The series blends culture-clash humour with interdimensional danger, romantic tension and questions about fate, making its brief runtime suited to quick binge-watching.

Originally developed from the short film The Portal, the 2015 miniseries stars Tahmoh Penikett, Erin Karpluk and Munro Chambers. Its plot includes an otherworldly assassin, Kim’s journalism ambitions and a mystery involving her deceased mother; although it ends with a cliffhanger, the complete series is currently free to stream on Tubi in the United States.
