Is Ghost’s Tobias Forge secretly recording a new death metal project? “He’s sitting in his studio again and no one’s allowed in. He’s doing something!”
Ghost frontman Tobias Forge is reportedly recording a new death metal project, according to hints from several collaborators and industry figures. The speculation matters because it would represent a markedly heavier direction than Ghost’s established hard-rock sound, though no official announcement has been made.
Swedish drummer Johan Koleberg said in June that he was preparing drums for Forge’s new project, while Earache Records head Digby Pearson later referred to a Ghost-connected death metal band and claimed Forge was making an album. Europe singer Joey Tempest also said Forge was privately working in his studio. Forge, 45, previously led Swedish death metal band Repugnant under the name Mary Goore, whose only album was released in 2006.
