BlackMagic Camera (free) and Moment Pro Camera II (£12.99) both now support the iPhone 18 Pro's variable aperture, offering 10 presets with 1/3 stop increments ranging from f/1.48 to f/4.0, mirroring the functionality of professional digital cameras. BlackMagic's version 3.5 initially had stability issues but was quickly patched to version 3.5.1 with performance improvements. Whilst the iPhone 18 Pro's compact sensor may make differences between closely spaced f-stops difficult to discern in practice, the enhanced control options represent a meaningful advantage for users seeking greater photographic flexibility.
