Soundgarden have released official footage of their first performance in Seattle since Chris Cornell’s death, staged during halftime at the Seattle Seahawks’ season opener. Taylor Momsen handled the vocals and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready joined the band, making the appearance a notable continuation of Soundgarden’s live legacy.

The band performed “Outshined” and “Spoonman” on 9 September at Lumen Field, accompanied by the Seahawks’ 32-piece Blue Thunder Drumline. It was Soundgarden’s fifth live appearance since Cornell died in 2017, and comes as the group reportedly completes an album built around unreleased Cornell recordings, which are now being mixed.
