Hannah Camplin, a 36-year-old intensive-care nurse, died suddenly in a Perth hospital after suffering cardiac arrest two days after giving birth to her daughter, Sofia. Her death has devastated her partner, former West Coast Eagles player Mark Hutchings, and their families, particularly because she had experienced a healthy pregnancy and uncomplicated birth.

Hutchings delayed announcing the tragedy while caring for Sofia and grieving, later describing Camplin’s motherhood as her lifelong dream.
