Alina Habba, a 42-year-old attorney and political figure, is marrying 29-year-old Turkish businessman Turhan Mildon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. The wedding is occurring just eight months after Habba's second divorce, and whilst described as "intimate," it is being celebrated as an extravagant high-profile event with considerable expense.

The ceremony takes place in the hotel's Grand Ballroom, a 10,000-square-foot Art Deco venue capable of hosting up to 1,500 guests. Habba is wearing a reported 23-carat diamond engagement ring, and Mildon has reportedly given her luxury gifts including Hermès Birkin bags worth approximately £23,000. The venue has been elaborately decorated with white and pink cherry blossom arrangements, towering glass chandeliers, ice sculptures and gold-coloured chairs, with a rehearsal dinner held beforehand at Aretsky's Patroon restaurant.
