John Turturro is receiving awards attention for his leading role in *The Only Living Pickpocket in New York*, but he says recognition is secondary to supporting a film he believes in. At a Zurich Film Festival masterclass, he discussed the film’s critical response, his long career and how life experience has helped him develop as an actor.

Turturro also confirmed he will return as Irving Bailiff in season three of Apple TV+’s *Severance*, provided the character has meaningful material. He praised Christopher Walken, whose character Burt Goodman had a romance with Irving, and reflected on their long professional friendship and Walken’s range as an actor.
