Moment crazed killer, 18, remains calm as police arrest him outside home for murdering his teaching assistant mother – after keeping her captive then striking her to death with a hammer
Eighteen-year-old Tristan Roberts was arrested at his home in Prestatyn after his mother, Angela Shellis, was found dead beside a footpath in Morfa Nature Park. He later admitted killing her in a planned hammer attack and was sentenced at Mold Crown Court to at least 22 and a half years in prison.
Police were alerted by a dog walker at 8.30am, who reported a body and a trail of blood; officers later found gloves, a balaclava and a crutch at the scene. CCTV showed Roberts and his mother leaving home at 3.20am, and a relative subsequently raised concerns about them.
