Convicted Australian drug dealer Robby Wirramanda, 53, sparked international outrage after killing and eating a puppy during his traditional wedding ceremony in Indonesia. The incident, filmed and posted on social media by his new bride, has intensified concerns about his character and animal welfare, particularly as recent photographs and videos suggest his marriage is already deteriorating whilst showing him interacting with other dogs in potentially threatening ways.

Wirramanda, whose real name is Robert Knight, committed the act on the Indonesian island of West Nusa Tenggara with the puppy's back legs tied before he beat it to death with a stick. His 20-year-old Indonesian bride, Rensi Ana, posted the footage alongside footage of him killing a piglet, but deleted it following severe backlash; he has since been baptised and undergone a second Western-style wedding ceremony. Recent videos reveal apparent marital discord, including an exchange where he reportedly grabbed Ana's mobile phone in frustration, whilst animal protection groups have warned that his interactions with other puppies—including one identical to the one he killed—suggest sinister intent, with commentators stating he is gaining trust before "will kill it the same way."
