A Florida mother has been arrested after allegedly leaving her four young children unattended at home whilst she embarked on a four-day cruise to the Bahamas. Nathalie Belizaire, 29, left her children—including a two-month-old baby and a two-year-old—alone in her North Miami Beach residence on Friday, deceiving one of the children's fathers by claiming they were being cared for by their great-grandmother. This case highlights serious concerns about child welfare and parental responsibility, as the discovery of the abandoned children has led to significant legal consequences.

Police became involved after one of the children's fathers noticed Belizaire posting about her cruise on social media and grew concerned about the infant's whereabouts. When he visited the property on Saturday night, he found the children unsupervised; first responders subsequently broke into the home and discovered all four minors hiding together in a bathroom. Belizaire was arrested upon disembarking the cruise ship on Monday and now faces four counts of child neglect. This is not her first legal issue; she was previously arrested in January 2025 for allegedly pepper-spraying a neighbour.
