A 23-year-old woman who pushed a Taylor Swift fan onto Chicago subway tracks in June 2023 has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery following a plea deal that downgraded the original attempted murder charge. The incident posed a grave danger, as a train arrived at the station within seconds of the victim reaching safety, potentially transforming the attack into a fatal tragedy.

Neveah King was sentenced to 54 months (reduced to 27 months under Illinois law), but because she had already spent 1,185 days in custody awaiting trial, her sentence has been satisfied and she will not serve additional prison time. The attack occurred on 4 June 2023 at Chicago's Division Blue Line station when the 24-year-old victim was heading to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert at Soldier Field. The victim miraculously landed on her feet after being pushed and scrambled to safety before the train entered the station.
