Actor John Goodman and his wife Anna Beth attended the Los Angeles premiere of "Digger," marking a rare public outing for the couple who have largely maintained a private life away from Hollywood. Goodman began his weight loss journey in 2007 when he weighed nearly 400 pounds, eventually losing over 100 pounds by 2010 through a combination of dietary changes, professional training and exercise. His transformation involved adopting a Mediterranean-style diet, cutting sugar, practising portion control, and working with trainer Mackie Shilstone, whilst also incorporating boxing and daily walks into his routine. Goodman quit drinking in 2007 and has attributed his sobriety and desire to "live life better" as central to his sustained weight loss. The couple married in 1989 after meeting at a Halloween party in New Orleans, and chose to raise their daughter Molly away from the entertainment industry spotlight.
