Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home, has been ruled mentally competent to stand trial. The decision by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalluzzi follows a competency evaluation that delayed proceedings for more than four months; Ortiz has pleaded not guilty.

Police allege Ortiz fired a semiautomatic rifle at the property on 8 March while Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were there. No one was injured, but the charges relate to Rihanna’s home, a trailer she was in and a neighbour’s property, as well as alleged assaults on family members, staff and others. If convicted, Ortiz faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
