Vivo’s X Fold 6 accidentally feels like a throwback

The Verge · 1 hour ago

Vivo’s X Fold 6 is launching internationally after debuting in China in June, but its familiar, taller design now feels dated beside newer foldables that have moved to shorter, wider proportions. It has a visible crease and an IP59 dust and water resistance rating, while its large displays retain a standard smartphone-shaped cover screen and an almost square inner screen.

The phone’s main draw is its camera hardware: a 200-megapixel main sensor, among the largest in a foldable, alongside 50-megapixel telephoto and ultrawide cameras. It also has a 6,900mAh battery and a customised MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor; Vivo had not provided pricing or specific launch markets, and the article’s author had yet to test the cameras.

  • The X Fold 6’s design feels dated beside newer foldables.
  • Its standout feature is a large 200-megapixel main camera sensor.
  • Price, launch markets and camera performance remain unconfirmed.
