Four teens charged over fatal shooting of boy in Charlotte home
Four-year-old Caleb Flax was shot and killed in his bed in Charlotte, North Carolina on 20 September when seven armed individuals fired 84 rounds from two stolen vehicles into four occupied homes. The shooting, which occurred shortly before 3am, left another woman critically injured.
Four teenagers—Ar'montae Johnson (16), Jaylen Barber (16), Antonio Ladson (17) and Ian Garland (17)—have been arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy and possession of stolen vehicles. Terrance Jackson (22) was charged as an accessory after the fact for allegedly helping dispose of one of the stolen cars. Police used GPS data from one of the stolen vehicles and Johnson's iPhone to link him to the shooting location and identify the suspects.
