Prime Video is departing from the Jack Reacher formula by introducing a spin-off that centres on Maria Sten's character, Frances Neagley, whilst relegating Alan Ritchson's iconic character to a supporting position. The series explores Neagley taking the lead on her own investigation, marking a significant shift from the main series where Reacher typically drives the narrative.

The plot follows Neagley as she seeks answers following the death of a close associate from her past, officially ruled a suspicious accident. Drawing on experience from her tenure with the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit and knowledge gained alongside Reacher, she unravels evidence pointing toward a larger, more sinister scheme. Prime Video has released promotional imagery depicting key moments from the investigation, including tense confrontations and a funeral that appears central to the emerging case.
