Chief Oscars Officer Teni Melidonian Steps Down From AMPAS
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the departure of Chief Oscars Officer Teni Melidonian from her full-time position, with CEO Bill Kramer confirming she will transition to a consultant role supporting the organization for the next year. The move represents part of a broader restructuring at AMPAS. During her tenure in the role, which began in January 2024, Melidonian oversaw strategy, talent relations, special events and production across all Academy awards programmes and worked directly with producers, broadcasters and senior leadership.
Melidonian's departure concludes a roughly two-decade relationship with the Academy, beginning in 2005 when she joined as a publicist before advancing through communications, brand strategy and the newly formed Oscars Strategy division. Her prior experience included work in Washington, D.C., including at the Armenian Embassy. Kramer's announcement emphasized her substantial contributions to Academy initiatives throughout her service.
