Titus Welliver, fresh from his acclaimed tenure in Amazon's Bosch, is preparing to launch a new crime drama on MGM+ alongside Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons. The series centres on two men who grew up together but pursued opposing lives—one in law enforcement, the other in organised crime—whose destinies intersect in 1980s New York. The show blends elements of crime cinema, drawing comparisons to films like Mystic River alongside television's The Sopranos.

The series comes from the creative partnership of Chris Brancato and Michael Panes, both veterans of prestige crime storytelling. Brancato gained recognition co-creating Netflix's Narcos franchise and its Mexican spin-off, whilst Panes built his screenwriting reputation on the MGM+ series Godfather of Harlem after transitioning from acting. The supporting cast includes Tom Brittney, an emerging actor who has recently been in contention for prominent film roles.
