Actress Natalie Alyn Lind has spoken to Variety about her breakout turn as Oreana in the first season of the "Yellowstone" spin-off "Dutton Ranch", following the season finale, "El Padrino", now streaming on Paramount+. The interview matters because Oreana emerged as a scene-stealer in an ensemble packed with established names such as Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Annette Bening and Ed Harris, and the finale hands her character two dramatic, life-altering turns.

In the episode, Oreana discovers she is pregnant and then watches her father, the villainous Rob-Will (Jai Courtney), bleed to death after being shot. Lind said she was devastated reading the script and cried over Courtney's exit, but sees both events as fresh material for her character. She noted the pregnancy ties into Beth's backstory from the original "Yellowstone", making Beth a grandmother, and teased that Season 2 will explore Oreana's past, her agricultural business degree, how much she really knows about the family business and how her father's murder shapes her.
