Lauren Bennett, the singer who featured on LMFAO's 2011 global hit 'Party Rock Anthem', has died at the age of 37. Her former girl group, G.R.L., announced her death in a statement on Instagram, describing her as "beloved" and paying tribute to her "beautiful spirit". Her passing marks the loss of a performer whose voice reached one of the best-selling and most recognisable pop tracks of the 2010s.

An official cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Bennett is survived by her six-year-old daughter, Harlow. She began her career at 18 with the Paradiso Girls in 2007, later collaborating with artists including CeeLo Green, Will.i.am and The Pussycat Dolls before joining LMFAO on 'Party Rock Anthem', which topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK singles chart. She joined G.R.L. in 2011, a group that featured on Pitbull's 'Wild Wild Love' and endured its own tragedy when member Simone Battle died by suicide in 2014.
