Australian entertainer Rhonda Burchmore has publicly responded after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese chose singer Kylie Minogue over her in a game of "shag, marry, date" during a podcast appearance. The exchange, which took place on Nikki Osborne's Bush Deep podcast, saw Albanese pressed to pick between Burchmore, Minogue and Nicole Kidman, and it has drawn attention as another example of a political leader facing scrutiny over off-the-cuff remarks in informal media settings.

Appearing on Today Extra, Burchmore said she "nearly spat out" her tea on hearing her name mentioned, and jokingly suggested Albanese must be "intimidated by tall redheads" given he passed over both her and Kidman. She advised the Prime Minister to be more selective about which podcasts he appears on and what he says in future. Albanese, initially reluctant, had answered "all of the above" when asked about Minogue, while the show's hosts joked he may have found Burchmore and Kidman "too much".
