An Irish tourist has been arrested after attacking police officers and airport staff at Lisbon Airport on Monday afternoon, in an incident that left several officers said to be "seriously injured". Footage of the outburst, which took place in the baggage claim area, shows the man lashing out and kicking a member of airport staff in the chest while onlookers screamed at him to stop, highlighting concerns about violence in busy travel hubs.

Portuguese police (PSP) said the 26-year-old had allegedly assaulted a Menzies Aviation employee near the Versailles café on the fifth floor of the terminal shortly before officers arrived.
