Marshall refreshes Acton and Stanmore speakers with better bass and repairable parts

The Verge · 12 hours ago

Marshall has announced the Acton IV and Stanmore IV, updated versions of its Bluetooth speakers that replace models launched four years ago. The refresh matters because it pairs improved audio hardware with a new emphasis on repairability, allowing owners to swap out several damaged parts rather than replacing the whole unit.

Both speakers gain upgraded tweeters, redesigned "more aerodynamic" bass ports for cleaner, more powerful bass, and reworked internal designs. Replaceable components include the knobs, feet and the logo-bearing front grills, while power cords now attach underneath so the speakers can sit flush against a wall. The Acton IV has a 4-inch woofer for $299.99, and the Stanmore IV a 5-inch woofer for $399.99, both available now. They support Bluetooth Auracast for multi-speaker syncing and work with Marshall's Heddon Wi-Fi streaming hub, which launched in January.
