Steve Guttenberg, Beth Grant and Craig Bierko have been cast in the lead roles of a new horror film, The Dybbuk, a contemporary adaptation of S. Ansky's classic play. The project marks the feature directing debut of writer-director Lee Amir-Cohen, who developed it alongside writer-producer Ashley Bua, with filming having recently wrapped in Los Angeles.

Guttenberg (Police Academy) plays Rabbi Azrael, a mystic compelled to carry out a perilous exorcism after the spirit of a dead man possesses a young woman in his congregation. Tony-nominee Bierko (Cinderella Man) plays the woman's father, Sender, while Grant (No Country For Old Men) plays her grandmother, Frayda. Amir-Cohen, whose acting credits include The Chosen, previously made the fantasy-horror short The Other Place; he and Bua are producing The Dybbuk through their Synescope Studios banner.
