Check out U2’s stirring Jacknife Lee-produced new single ‘Street Of Dreams’
U2 have released "Street Of Dreams", the first single from their forthcoming album and their first taste of all-new material since 2017's "Songs Of Experience". Produced by longtime collaborator Jacknife Lee, the track marks a significant moment for the veteran Irish band as they approach their 50th anniversary in September and prepare to release what is expected to be their 15th studio album later this year.
The single's video was filmed in Mexico City, showing the band performing on the roof of a spray-painted bus as fans gathered and chased them through the streets, before heavy rain forced an impromptu balcony performance at a local resident's home. Notably, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. features in the video, having sat out the band's Las Vegas Sphere residency in 2023 and 2024 following back surgery. Bono has described the forthcoming record as a "noisy, messy" album built for live performance, framing rock music as "an act of resistance" during what he called these "wilderness years". The band have released two EPs already this year, and Lee's previous U2 work includes 2004's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" and the 2023 single "Atomic City".
