Meta has introduced Muse Image, an artificial intelligence tool for generating images developed by its Superintelligence Labs division. The service is available at no cost through Meta's AI application, Instagram Stories, and WhatsApp, offering features such as creating images from text descriptions, performing targeted edits using natural language prompts, removing unwanted elements from photos, and generating functional QR codes.

The platform operates on a freemium basis, allowing unrestricted use for everyday creative purposes whilst requiring a paid Meta subscription for access beyond specified usage limits. Alongside the image generator, Meta has released new AI-powered visual effects for Instagram Stories. The company has additionally indicated that Muse Video, a complementary video generation tool, is currently in development as part of its expanding suite of consumer artificial intelligence products.
