Mediaset Orders New Italian Version Of ‘The Wall’ Hosted By Max Giusti
The Wall, the game show format created by LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Andrew Glassman, is returning to Italian television. Broadcaster Mediaset has ordered a new local edition for its Canale 5 channel, with comedian and presenter Max Giusti hosting. The move reflects a broader international push by NBCUniversal Formats, which has been actively selling the show to overseas markets after adding it to its catalogue.
In the game, pairs of contestants answer questions as giant balls travel unpredictably down a large wall, with correct answers building their prize fund and mistakes potentially wiping out their winnings. The show previously aired in Italy from 2017 to 2019 with Gerry Scotti as host. This latest version adds a new twist, the Lucky Ball, which can boost winnings by up to €100,000 (approximately $114,000) or eliminate them entirely. The Italian edition begins on 13 July, produced by RTI with Fremantle and other partners. It follows a recent Greek version, underlining the format's continued international appeal.
