Sacha Baron Cohen is reported to have completed a new film featuring his spoof interviewer Ali G, marking the character's return to cinemas 24 years after Ali G Indahouse. According to a report by The InSneider, filming has wrapped, with locations including Oxfordshire — where Baron Cohen was spotted in character last summer — and the United States. No title or release date has been confirmed, and representatives for the star declined to comment.

A revival of the character was first rumoured in 2023 but was reportedly delayed by the writers' and actors' strikes in the US. Ali G, a shellsuit-wearing "voice of da yoof" from the "west Staines massiv", first appeared on Channel 4's The 11 O'Clock Show in 1998 before gaining his own programme. The new film was shot in secret and is believed to feature interviews with unsuspecting pundits, echoing the approach of Borat and Brüno; past Ali G targets have included Newt Gingrich and Tony Benn. Baron Cohen's wider credits range from the Oscar-nominated The Trial of the Chicago 7 to the poorly reviewed Netflix comedy Ladies First.
