ITV has struck a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to stream all 11 films in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises for free on its streaming service, ITVX. The agreement makes the eight Harry Potter movies and the three Fantastic Beasts titles available at no cost during the summer holidays, offering a notable draw for the platform as it competes for viewers against paid streaming rivals.

The films will be available on ITVX for an undisclosed period, and will also air on the ITV1 and ITV2 channels during that time. ITVX has grown by nearly 60% over the past four years to reach 16.5 million monthly active users. Darren Nartey, ITV's head of content acquisitions, said the broadcaster was proud to offer the "iconic British films" to old and new fans for free. The J.K. Rowling franchise, which is marking its 25th anniversary this year, has grossed more than $9.6 billion worldwide at the box office.
