Apple has released iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2 and macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, an unusually early security update pushed out on 29 June 2026 to patch flaws in the kernel, WebKit and WebRTC. The move matters because Apple reportedly accelerated the rollout in response to concerns that artificial intelligence can help attackers study and exploit software weaknesses far more quickly than before, shortening the window defenders once relied upon.

The fixes had first appeared in the iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6 and macOS Tahoe 26.6 betas, but Apple released them to all users ahead of schedule to reduce the time attackers might have to reverse-engineer the vulnerabilities. Apple said there was no evidence the flaws had been exploited. The patched issues, affecting the iPhone 11 and later plus various iPad and Mac models, could allow malicious apps or web content to crash systems, corrupt memory, leak sensitive data or escape security sandboxes.
